Chandigarh: The maximum temperatures on Saturday settled few notches above normal levels across Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, which received rains since yesterday, recorded a high of 35.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the local MeT office said here.

Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 35.8 deg C, up three degrees while Hisar's high settled at 34 deg C.

Patiala and Ludhiana in Punjab recorded maximum temperatures of 36 deg C and 35.5 deg C respectively.

Amritsar registered a high of 33.8 deg C after being lashed by rains.
