Mutksar (Punjab): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Sunday asked voters to fulfill party founder Kanshi Ram's dream of a BSP government in Punjab.

Addressing election rallies in support of party nominees here, she also targeted the UPA government at the Centre alleging its wrong economic policies were responsible for the price spiral.

Kanshi Ram belonged to Punjab, Mayawati said appealing to people to vote for her party to fulfill his dream of a BSP government in the state.

She said her party was fighting the January 30 Punjab assembly election on its own and would not enter into tie-ups with other parties.

Mayawati, in her 30-minute speech, said her government in Uttar Pradesh had launched a number of development schemes to improve the lot of all sections of society.

She was critical of the "wrong economic policies" of the UPA government which, Mayawati alleged, were responsible for the runaway food inflation.
