Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati seems to have caught in new controversy for her alleged role in the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam. In a fresh development, IAS Navneet Sehgal (a close aide of Mayawati) allegedly accepted Rs 42 lakh as bribe for Ex Minister Babul Lal Kushwaha at 13 Mall Avenue (the official residence of Mayawati).

This expose was made by Girish Malik, a key witness in the case, during the cross questions with defence lawyer in special CBI court.

Malik in his statement said in CBI court, “I paid Rs 42 lakh to IAS Navneet Sehgal for ex-Family and Welfare Minister Babu Lal Kushwaha at Mayawati’s resident 13 Mall Avenue in Lucknow. P K Jain and P K Bhukesh directed me to pay the amount for the then minister.”

Babul Lal Kushwaha, ex-MLA R P Jaiswal along with seven other accused were produced before the special CBI court for the hearing.
