New Delhi: A day after criticising Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari Rajya Sabha for not ensuring smooth functioning of the House, BSP chief on Thursday said that she has full faith in the Chairman saying that he will find ways and means to get the quota bill passed.

I have respect for Hamid Ansari:Mayawati

The BSP supremo also requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to talk to all the parties particularly those opposed to quota bill to remove obstacles.

On Wednesday, Rajya Sabha could not function because of uproar over the SC/ST quota Bill that provides reservation to SCs/STs in government job promotions whereas the Lok Sabha was paralysed by BSP members demanding details about coal block allocations.

Upset over the fact that lack of order prevented passage of the Constitution (117th Amendment) Bill, Mayawati had on Wednesday criticised the Rajya Sabha Chairman. "In the past few days, I have been observing that the House gets adjourned at 12 noon. It is the government and the Chairman's responsibility to put the House to order. If it doesn't do so, I have to take a tough stand,” she has said.
