Lucknow: Aiming to settle score in the coming Assembly election, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati wrote third letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding reservation for the Jat community in the state.

Drawing the PM’s attention to the plight of Jat community in UP, Mayawati in her letter has demanded that the Central government should include them in the category of Other Backward Class (OBC).

According to a government spokesperson, Mayawati is of strong opinion that the Jat community in the state needs push-up to avail opportunities in education and employment to iron out social angularities.

In her letter to the PM, Mayawati has stated that Jat community in Rajasthan leaving those of Bharatpur and Dhaulpur has been included in the OBC.

On this basis, the Centre should also include UP Jat community in OBC, Mayawati has demanded.
