Lucknow (Agencies): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday ordered disciplinary action against officials for negligence in works that came to fore during her surprise visit in two districts.

Six officials including Kanpur divisional commissioner have come under scanner.

"The CM carried out surprise inspections in Kanpur and Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar districts to review progress of development works, implementation of welfare schemes, state of essential services and law and order situation," a government spokesman said here.

Taking stock of law and order and welfare schemes Mayawati ordered transfer of commissioner of Kanpur division, in which both the districts fall, for slack supervision and laxity in works.

Mayawati also ordered suspension and departmental action against tehsildar of Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) who had not taken charge at new place after a government order.

She also ordered suspension of KDA's chief engineer and transfer of the vice-chairman for poor quality of houses constructed under Kanshiram urban poor housing scheme at a slum in Chunniganj.

The government also ordered transfer of IGP, DIG and SP (city) for inadequate security arrangements during Mayawati's visit in Kanpur.
