New Delhi: The election campaign for the upcoming MCD polls was a starry affair with prominent celebrities sweating out on the streets asking for votes in support of their favourite candidates.

A large number of Bollywood stars came out in support of their candidates on the last day of campaigning and added glamour to the dull poll campaign due to Model Code of Conduct of the Election Commission.

Bollywood stars like Mahima Chaudhary, Aditya Pancholi and Mugdha Godse were the talk of the town when they campaigned in support of Congress candidates in Mangolpuri area of North-West Delhi. Huge crowds flocked to have a glimpse of the actors in this resettlement colony.

Delhi Public Works Department Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan is the sitting Mangolpuri MLA. Mangolpuri is considered to the fiefdom of the Congress.

Along with the actors, Chauhan with son Keshav also campaigned in a jeep appealing for support. Congress has fielded Santosh Agarwal from Rohini South ward while Seema Jatav is fighting the polls form Mongolpuri East.

The Congress has given ticket to Sushila Devi in Mangolpuri West while party nominee Ashok Shokeen is contesting from Mangolpuri ward.

Rubbishing all claims of the Bahujan Samaj Party clinching victory in the polls, Public Works Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan expressed confidence that Congress will emerge victorious on all four seats in the area. It is worth mentioning that Mangolpuri has a sizable dalit population.
