New Delhi:  As the major stakeholders –the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress have announced the names of candidates to be fielded in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, the resentment among the party workers have further widened over denial of tickets to their kin. Owing to rising discord both the parties made last minute changes. The Congress changed 15 names on last day so did the BJP.

On late Sunday night the Congress announced 267 names for 272 wards for three corporations in Delhi. The party said that the remaining five names will be declared on Monday morning. Surprisingly, on Monday the party changed 15 names.  If the sources are to be believed the sudden decision came following the tussle between the MPs and MLAs over ticket distribution.

In Libaspur, Sudesh Rana was given ticket instead of Suresh Yadav while Naresh Kumar replaced Rajendra Singh in Mundka. Similarly party changed the candidature of Jai Narayan in Mongolpuri by fielding Ashok Kumar.

The grand old party reposed faith on Kapil Yadav denying ticket to Rakesh Kumar from Rohini (North) seat. Ranjana Sodhi replaced Nidhi Dhawan on Rana Pratap Bagh seat.

The party changed Sunita Indoriya by fielding Nirmala Devi from Ramanagar. It preferred Rahul Sharma to Devprakash Sharma for Milap Nagar seat whereas in Madhu Vihar, Anand Upadhyay was given priority over Mukundram Bhatt.

The party gave its nod on the name of Abhsihek Dutta instead of Harish Arora in Abdrews Ganj, while in Vasant Kunj, Parul Soni was given ticket in place of Omwati. Manju Meherwal was replaced with Anju Meherwal in Dakshinpuri Extension whereas Gurmeet Singh was fielded in place of Mahaveer Saini in Guru Harkishan Nagar.

It needs to be mentioned that the Congress did not give tickets to two sitting BJP councillors who joined the party fold this year.
Besides, the BJP fielded Lata Gupta in place of Kulwant Kaur in Pandav Nagar ward. Sources say, the party decided to give ticket Akali Dal worker but later changed the decision.
