New Delhi: After months of debate, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has finally prepared a draft regarding security arrangements for Civic Centre.

According to the prepared draft, the security arrangement will be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). In a bid to provide a security cover to MCD leaders and officials, as many as 351 CISF personnel will be deployed.

The proposal will be placed before the Standing Committee in its meeting on Thursday. After its approval, the draft will be presented in the House.

According to the proposal, six CISF personnel will be deployed at seven gates each in three shifts. Arrangements for dog squad will also be made in which three dogs will guard the centre. Eight persons will be employed for proper care of these dogs.

A Quick Reaction Team (QRT) will also be deployed to handle any untoward incidents. This team will reach the spot following any tip-off. Two such teams are being prepared who will be given training to use modern weapons.

For a long the government was mulling to extend security cover to the 28-storeyed Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Centre at Minto Road in the national capital.

Earlier, the security of this tallest building in Delhi was to be handed to Delhi Police but no consensus was reached in this context.
