New Delhi: After the allegations of having ghost employees, yet another scam has hit the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). A scam pertaining to hiring 1600 Nursery and Primary school teachers on contractual basis has been reported in the civic agency.

The merit list of the selected candidates prepared by the MCD appears to be fake in the first appearance itself. An organized group is suspected to be behind the recruitment scam.

After inviting online applications for recruitment of teachers, a list of selected candidates was released on September 20 and September 24. The chosen candidates were asked to be present with their documents on September 29 and 30.

However, after going through the list of candidates closely, Jagran has found that some of the selected candidates were fake.

The list includes names of candidates who have applied for posts more than once.

Interestingly, names of some people have been repeated in the list who had applied more than once.

Apart from this, the list incorporates those candidates who have already cleared necessary examinations.

In a bid to stop fraudulent practices, the civic agency had opted for online application process.

MCD Education Committee Chairman Mahendra Nagpal said that five people have been identified for fraud in the primary investigation and legal action would be initiated against them soon.
