New Delhi: Undeterred to plan of MCD’s trifurcation and civic body polls slated next year, Municipal Corporation of Delhi is all set to impose new taxes like sanitation fees, education cess, betterment fees in coming fiscal year. MCD commissioner KS Mehra will release new budget on Wednesday.

As per sources, the objective of MCD’s 2012-13 estimated budget is to make the body financially independent. The focus will be on increasing revenue and reducing expenditure.

MCD has decided to find new sources of income. They will open malls and other commercial premises on their own lands.

MCD office will be shifted to Civic Centre. Most benefits provided by the corporation are property tax, passing of maps, birth and death certificates to be obtained by e governance.

The MCD will also focus on incomplete railway underpass, preparing 24 multilevel parking, making Delhi cleaner, collecting solid wastes from houses, cleaning roads through machines and providing better services to people in MCD parks.
