New Delhi: In addition to ongoing recruitment of teachers on contractual basis for Primary Schools, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has now planned to fill in 2757 vacant positions of teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The vacant positions would be filled through online recruitment process.

In a view of irregularities reported in the recruitment of teachers on contractual basis last month, the authorities have now decided to charge registration fee of Rs 100 along with application form which would make the applicants take the recruitment process seriously.

Mahendra Nagpal, Chairman of MCD education committee, said, “In an effort to fill in the vacant positions, the authorities have already recruited 1600 teachers on contract basis since August. In the meantime, the Central Government proposed to fill in 2757 on contractual basis.”

The teacher would be paid Rs 13000 per month as remuneration by the Central Government.

It is to be noted that in first of its kind move, the MCD has started the online registration facility to fill in 1600 vacant positions. Nearly 60000 people have applied out of which large number of applications were fraudulent.
