Chandigarh: Effective measures are being taken for protecting children from sexual offences, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Hooda said Additional District and Session Judges in each sessions division have been notified as Special Court (Children) in the State under Section 25 of Commissions for the Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005.

He said that under Section 26 of Commissions for the Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, the senior most Deputy District Attorney posted in the office of District Attorney in each district has been designated as Special Public Prosecutor for conducting cases in special Courts.

He said the state government would take further action for publicising the provisions of this Act and disseminating information among children, their parents and the general public.
