New Delhi: The health parameters of Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, who has been arrested for his alleged role in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam and who is seeking interim bail from a Delhi court on medical ground, has been described in medical reports from Tihar jail as "stable and normal".

Submitting the status report before Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal on Singh's medical condition, the jail authorities said quoting the medical status report that "his
medical condition is stable and all parameters are near normal, as reported by various specialists and as indicated by the pathological tests".

They said Singh is under regular medical supervision.

"It is...submitted that every effort is being made by the prison administration to have him (Amar Singh) examined by various super specialists in view of the medical history of renal transplantation, intestinal resection, diabetes mellitus, hypertension etc.

"...In addition, he is under regular medical supervision of RMO, SMO and duty doctors of the jail. His blood pressure and sugar are monitored three times a day", the jail authorities said. Amar Singh's blood and urine samples were sent for tests on the recommendation of super specialists of LNJP hospital and G B Pant hospital, they added.

The report said Amar Singh had complaint of vomiting, headache and dizziness.

"He (Amar Singh) was also examined by Dr Neera Chaudhary, Associate Professor of Neurology, G B Pant Hospital, on September 10 on the advice of Dr Sanjay Sachdeva (Associate professor of Gastroenterology, G B Pant Hospital) as he was complaining of giddiness and nausea.”

The medical reports from Tihar jail said "she (Dr Neerja Chaudhary) has advised that the opinions of a psychiatrist and ENT specialists should also be taken. The same has been done."

The jail authorities added some more tests have been advised by the doctors and the reports would come by tomorrow. They said some reports are within the normal limits while
some are "slightly above" normal limits.

Dr Sanjay Sachdeva, in his report on Singh's medical condition, said he is suffering from hypertension, diabetes, mellitus, hypothyroidism, post renal transplantation (done in
2009) and for all the above mentioned ailments, Amar Singh is getting treatment from his physician and "these ailments are reasonably well controlled".
