At the age when generally children learn the basics of art and drama, these kids share their name with veterans by winning the prestigious National Awards. The National Film Award for Best Child Artist in Hindi movie was first bestowed to famous Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor for the movie  'Mera Naam Joker' in 1970.

Here, we share the list of these talented child actors:


Partho Gupte: Son of veteran actor  Amole Gupte, Partho won  National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2011 for the movie 'Stanley Ka Dabba'. Interestingly, this movie was directed by his father Amol Gupte.



Virendra Pratap:  Virendra Pratap received National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2012 for the movie 'Dekh Indian Circus'. He played a role of  7 years old school boy in the movie.

Harsh Mayar: He bagged the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2010 for the movie 'I Am Kalam' in which he played the role of 'Chhotu', a 12 years old intelligent boy from Rajasthan.

Shams Patel: He was bestowed National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his excellent acting in movie 'Thanks Maa' in 2008. He played a role of a 12-year-old street kid named 'Municipality'. In the movie, the character 'Municipality'  finds and saves a two-day-old abandoned child from being prey to a street dog.

Naman Jain: He was bestowed National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2011 for the movie 'Chillar Party'. Jain had shared silver screen with superstar Ranbir Kapoor in the movie which was produced by Salman Khan. The movie was highly appreciated by the critics.



Rishi Kapoor:
The veteran Rishi Kapoor touched the hearts of the audience in his father Raj Kapoor's movie 'Mera Naam Joker'. He was the first child who had received National Film Award for excellent acting in movie in 1970.
