The 80-year-old man, Jagdish Lal Ahuja, has been organising 'langar' for the needy and poor in Chandigarh daily for past 33 years. Ajuha along with his wife has been distributing food regularly outside PGI and Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.

Tagged as 'Baba' out of love, the free meal comprises chapattis, dal, halwa, a banana and a pack of sweets or biscuits.

Jagdish Ahuja, essentially a millionaire, organised his first 'langar' on his son's eighth birthday. Since then, the baba and his langar did not stop even for a day. Every time he ran out of money, Ahuja sold one of his properties to keep the langar alive. Till date, Ahuja has sold properties worth Rs 7 crore.

In his own words, "Ab yeh langar nahi rukega... Jab tak main zinda hu, Baba ka langar chalta rahega". The determined social activist's good deeds have been continuing despite all odds. Apart from food, he also donates essentials like blankets, socks, shoes and sweaters to the poor.
