A former student of Carmel Convent School, Bopal and Graduate from Lady Shri Ram college, Tina hogged the limelight with her achievement and today she is leading the headlines of the major news papers. Despite hailing from weaker section of the society, she worked hard and achieved the milestone.


After crowned as topper of Civil Services Exams, Tina announced that she will work for women empowerment and she chose ‘Haryana’ for tendering her services to the state that has lower sex-ratio.

"I always wanted to work in a challenging state. That is why I chose Haryana. We all know the sex ratio of girl and boy child is quiet less and that is why I would like to contribute my efforts for the empowerment of women there," she said.


Tina, who was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, said her mother Himali is her role model who herself is a former Indian Engineering Service (IES) officer. Surprisingly her father Jaswant is also a serving IES officer. Jubilant father expressed his happiness as saying, "It is the best day of my life."

Tina's mother who was instrumental behind the success of eldest daughter explained that she had provided all support to Tina while she was preparing for the civil services exam.

The elated mother lauded, "My daughter is really my hero. There is No Alternative (TINA) for her."

Tina has a younger sister Ria who has just passed Class XII this year. When asked whether she would also like to follow her sister's footstep and join civil services, she said "it is too early to say. But as of now, we all are happy for her (Tina) success."



After this success she has been poured by applauds from dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who themselves twitted for her success.



PMO (Prime Minister Office) has also issue a statement to laud her feat. The results of civil services examination has reflected that commoners can dream of joining the coveted civil services, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said.
