Ranchi: The Santhal Pargana in Jharkhand will soon have a mega textile park which would create employment opportunities for as many as 10,000 weavers, said Hasina Ansari, advisor to the Textile Ministry and the president of All India Weaver Congress, here on Tuesday.

Hasina Ansari, who earlier met with Jharkhand Chief Secretary Shushil Kumar Chaudhary, gave this information while interacting with mediapersons.

According to Hasina, weavers in Jharkhand have not got justice even after 11 years, while a majority of the minority community here is involved the weaving profession.

As the silk used for weaving sarees has a nation-wide recognition, there is a chance of growth for textile industry in the state.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary gave an assurance of taking positive initiative on the issue.
