Jammu: PDP on Thursday lashed out at the ruling National Conference led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the present regime has failed to carry forward the agenda of peace and equitable development in the state.
"National Conference-Congress government has failed to build on the foundation of good governance and development laid by previous government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said while addressing public meetings at Gambermughla and Mendhar.
Mufti said that good work both on political as well as development front done by the previous PDP-Congress regime has been reversed during the last four years rule of present NC-Congress government.
"Trade and travel routes opened between the two sides like Srinagar–Muzaffarabad, Poonch-Rawalakote for the purpose of generating interaction and economic activity have become all most defunct during the last four years," she said.
The PDP leader alleged that the basic requirements like communication, banking facility etc are still missing and goods are exchanged as barter system which does not have much scope.
"Mughal road project which was taken up by previous PDP regime despite great obstructions was to get completed by 2009, but 2012 too has ended but the road is still not open for general traffic," she pointed out.
She said that NC which had promised free power to poor, 50 rupees less on LPG gas and other such promises have totally done the reverse.
"Power tariff has been increased many times, LPG gas has gone up and is scarcely available that too at a very high price," Mufti said.
