Gurgaon: Men travelling in ladies coach of the Delhi Metro beware! Now, female volunteers travelling in the reserved coach will not only beat male passengers with broom but will also force them to wear bangles. The ongoing operation Majnu has received support from the police as well.

Apart from this, they will also make men sweep the metro floor.

The campaign was launched in the presence of DCP (traffic) Bharti Arora on Thursday for two hours. Male passengers travelling in ladies coach were also fined.

Many male passengers objected to the campaign and said if they get into the coach by mistake, they should be fined but not insulted.

A woman said it has become a habit of male commuters to travel in ladies coach. "Police and metro officials fine them but still they get into the ladies coach," she added.

DCP Bharti Arora said that women had taken right step.

A nodal officer of the metro security Jagdish Prasad said that the women were protesting after male passengers misbehaved with them in the reserved coach on Wednesday. A case was registered, he said.

Advocate Yash Anand who is a regular metro-traveller said, “The method of the operation Majnu is wrong. The person can be fined but forcing him to wear bangles is totally wrong.”
