Metro Phase 3 to connect Delhi hospitals

New Delhi: Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) in its proposed third phase extension which is expected to be completed by March 2016 has planned to connect with maximum hospitals of the capital.

Delhi Metro in its first and second phase of extension touched main hospitals like Safdarjang, Ambedkar, AIIMS, but in its ambitious 103 km phase III project, DMRC has made an attempt to spread its reach to other hospitals of Delhi as well.

Hospitals including ESI, Deen Dayal in Harinagar, Army hospital in Delhi Cantonment, Lalbahadur Shastri hospital in Kalyanpuri will be linked with Metro stations which are at walking distance.

“In order to ensure smooth travel for the passengers, we have already included these areas in our Detailed Project Report (DPR)” said Anuj Dayal, Public relation officer, DMRC.

Over two thousand patients coming from different parts of the country reach these hospitals everyday and are compelled to face huge traffic snarls.

With metro connectivity, patients will be benefited directly.
