"Due to track circuit drop problem between Moti Nagar and Ramesh Nagar section going towards Dwarka of Line 3, trains were moving at restricted speed in this section, leading to bunching and minor delay of trains on this line after 2:35 pm," a DMRC spokesperson said.
Hundreds of passengers travelling on the usually overcrowded Line 3 train on the Noida-Dwarka route got delayed by over an hour, till the services were restored.
"The problem was rectified at 3:21 pm. Normalcy is being restored in entire section," the official said.
"The train was crowded and the air conditioners stopped working but the doors remained open. Usually it would take about 20 minutes to reach my workplace, but today it took an hour," a regular traveller, Lamat who was on her way to work said.
Though regular announcements were made in the trains, the delay was very unnerving for passengers who were on their way to the railway station and airport.
The Line 3 Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida City Centre/Vaishali recorded the highest passenger footfall of over 9.8 lakh in August this year, but the route has been marred with technical problems ever now and then.
