New Delhi: Considered to be the lifeline of the capital, Delhi Metro is all set to evolve as a Ring Metro in the third phase.
The metro will pass through 10 important intersections where the commuters can change for other metro routes. This endevaour will help connect all metro lines with one another and cut the travel time.

In the third phase, a line will connect Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden in Noida and the second line will connect Mukundpur in north Delhi to Yamuna Vihar.
The Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar line will connect to the Jahangirpuri-Huda City Centre line at Azadpur metro station. The DMRC will lay an underground line on the route where commuters will be able to change the metro.

The same line will intersect the Dilshad Garden-Rithala line at Netaji Subhash Place metro station. Passing through many posh colonies, the line will reach Rajouri Garden metro station falling on Dwarka Sector 21-Noida City Centre line. This will enable the people to commute from Azadpur to Noida by changing metro at Rajouri Garden instead of Kashmiri Gate.

This Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar line will meet Dhaula Kuan-Airport Express line through Ring Road. Passing through Moti Bagh, Sarojini Nagar and South Extension, it will connect Lajpat Nagar metro station on Central Secretariat-Badarpur line.

It is to be noted, there is an elevated metro station in Lajpat Nager but an underground metro station will also be built by 2016. The line will meet the Yamuna Bank - Noida City Centre line at Mayur Vihar Phase-1 metro station.

Further, it will connect Preet Vihar metro station on the Yamuna Bank - Vaishali line and will meet the Welcome metro station on the Dilshad Garden-Rithala line.
This will allow people from Welcome to directly reach Lajpat Nagar and South Extension without changing at several intersections.
