Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Saturday led scores of AIADMK workers here in remembering party founder MG Ramachandran on his 24th death anniversary.
   
Jayalalithaa placed a wreath at Ramachandran's memorial at Marina here and administered a pledge to party workers.
   
Ramachandran, fondly known as MGR, was a charismatic actor who later entered the political arena tasting much success, remaining as Chief Minister till his death in 1987.
   
He founded AIADMK in 1972 following expulsion from DMK in the wake of differences with party chief M Karunanidhi.
   
The leader was remembered all over the state with party workers garlanding his statues and portraits.
