The smartphone, which is priced at Rs 6,999, comes with a 4.5 inch FWVGA display and dynamic contrast. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor coupled with 1 GB RAM.

Micromax Canvas Xpress features a 5MP Auto Focus rear camera and 0.3MP front shooter.

It comes with an onboard storage of 8 GB which can be expanded upto 32 GB via micro SD card. The phone is backed with 1950 mAh battery and its connectivity features include 3G, Wifi, and Bluetooth.

The phone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. However, it not clear whether it will be upgradeable to Android Lollipop.

The smartphone is also equipped with innovative software features like HotKnot which facilitate users to open their favourite app through coustomized gestures.

Vineet Taneja, Chief Executive Officer, Micromax said in a statement , "Our partnership with Flipkart to launch the Canvas Xpress exclusively reinforces our commitment to simplify the process for millions of users who prefer to shop online and get the device with just a few clicks."

Micromax has also tied up with Aircel to provide its users with 500mb data per month for the first six months on Canvas Express.
