The new Micromax smartphone features a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with 480x854 pixels of resolution. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM.

The inbuilt storage of the device has not been disclosed, but can be extended up to 32 GB with a  microSD card.

The dual-SIM Micromax Canvas Pep runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.

The all-new Canvas Pep features 5 MP fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash and 1.3 MP front-facing camera.

As connectivity options, the smartphone offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and Bluetooth.

The Canvas Pep smartphone is backed with a 1700mAh battery, which has the capacity of providing talktime up to 210 hours in standby time.

Available in Pristine White and Mystic Blue colour options, the Micromax new phone is available for purchase through both online and offine stores. The Micromax Canvas Pep, however, is not listed yet on the company's website.

Micromax on Tuesday started rolling out Android Lollipop 5.0 software update for its Canvas series smartphones, so it is likely that this phone can also be updated into a new OS version.
