Chandigarh: In a bid to increase the number of girl students in government schools, the Haryana government has decided to provide mid-day meal to the students upto class XII under a pilot project in the six districts of the state.

The districts included in the pilot project are Ambala, Kaithal, Hisar, Rohtak and Rewari.

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary, Haryana, Urvashi Gulati on Tuesday.

Presently, the students of primary and middle classes are only entitled to avail the benefits of mid-day meal scheme.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary suggested the investigation of the supply of stock prior to the summer vacation.
