Mini IPL will be direct result of Supreme Court appointed Lodha Panel recommendations, which has given the direction that there should be no advertisements between the overs. This will give a huge blow to BCCI's revenue generation and it aims to balance it out by organizing a T20 series oversees where the reforms suggested by the panel will not be applicable.

According to current information, BCCI will face a competition from ICC which also aims for a similar tournament during September, when most of the Test playing nations are comparatively free.


This will be a test for Shashank Manohar who was recently chosen as ICC's first independent chairman. He will be facing the dilemma of giving priority to interests of the two boards: The one he heads and the one he originally belongs to.
