An official statement said that the national flags in government offices would be flown in half mast and no official entertainment programme would be organised during the day.

Meanwhile, Munde’s body is being taken to his native village Parli in Maharashtra’s Beed district where he will be cremated with full state honours.
The Union Cabinet on Tuesday expressed its deep sense of loss and grief over Munde’s death. A special Cabinet meeting convened last evening to mourn Munde’s death passed a resolution to place on record its appreciation of his services to the nation in different capacities both at the state and national levels.

The resolution said the country has lost a visionary leader, who was held in high esteem across the political spectrum. On behalf of the entire nation, the Cabinet extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
