Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed a demand for separate Assembly for Jammu region. The Panthers Party and Jammu State Morcha said the state Assembly had become a place for political bickering for the National Conference and PDP due to which issues related to development and common man are suppressed.

The legislators stated that there should either be a separate session for the PDP and the National Conference for discussion or a separate Assembly for the Jammu region.

Representing Udhampur constituency in the House, Balwant Singh Mankotia raised the issue and said the Question Hour was suspended due to the arguments between the PDP and the National Conference.

“The fight between the PDP and the NC is tantamount to the feud between two families. Due to their bellicose attitude, issues related to common man go pending. We have to discuss the matter related to development. We request you to keep a separate session for the two parties or make a separate Assembly for Jammu,” Mankotia told the Speaker.

Jammu State Morcha MLA Ashwini Kumar Sharma raising the same demand said we want to discuss the issues attached with common man.
