Mumbai: Amid ongoing spate of controversial statements in the aftermath of Delhi gang rape incident, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has sparked controversy by blaming people from Bihar for growing cases of rapes in the country.

Speaking on Saturday in Mumbai, Raj Thackeray said, “I have full sympathy with rape victim and such incidences should never be allowed to happen with anyone but did anyone cared of the identity of the culprits?  Nobody is speaking about this. All are clamouring over the incident but no one says that all the culprits belonged to Bihar.”

Though, Raj Thackeray is not correct as only one of the accused of December 16 rape incident is from Bihar.

Earlier, MNS chief was booked by Delhi police for his hate comments against people from Bihar. He had also linked July 2011 Mumbai attack with Bihar.
