London: Charging your mobile phone battery will become much easier now. In a major technological advancement, your mobile phone batteries would now be charged by just sending a text message.

A company named Buffalo Grid in London has claimed to have developed solar-energy charging station which is capable of charging mobile batteries on received text messages.

The new solar-energy charging station is said to be very useful for residents in rural areas of developing nations where mobile penetration is increasing day by day.

According to the reports of a science magazine, Buffalo Grid carried out the test of new technology in Uganda and found it to be doing well. The new technology uses Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) devices which help in transferring energy from solar panel to mobile phone batteries. On received text messages, the station initiates charging process. The station charges mobile batteries continuously for one and half hours.
