Mobile bill brings nightmare to customer

In what appears to be a nightmare for Vishwanath Shetty who received a whopping Rs 13 crore as mobile phone bills thanks to a technical snag in the MTNL server.

Vishwanath Shetty, a resident of Kandivali in Mumbai avails the services of MTNL’s Dolphin Network. He has post-paid connection in his name.

Till now, Shetty would receive an average monthly bill of Rs 1,000. Shetty has always been paid the bill on time. Last month, he received a bill of Rs 1,300 which he paid immediately.

But, while travelling in the local train in Kandivali on his way to home, he received an sms mentioning about the due bill amount of Rs 13,18,47,813.

Shetty got baffled over the exaggerated bill amount. He dropped the idea of going home and headed towards the service provider. At the Kandivali office counter, he was told that nothing could be done regarding the correction of bill at the counter. The sms was sent from BKC office and he needs to visit there for bill correction.

While getting ready to move BKC office next day, Shetty received another sms informing to ignore the earlier message regarding the mobile phone bill and the actual bill amount is Rs 1,318. Certainly, it was a big relief for Shetty to get the actual amount. But, the error of MTNL was enough to bring nightmare to Shetty.
