London: Burberry model Cara Delevingne is putting her catwalk career on hold to fulfill her ambition of becoming a leading actress in Hollywood.

The 19-year-old sister of top model Poppy has just landed her first role starring alongside Keira Knightley and Jude Law in new film 'Anna Karenina', reported Daily Mail online.

It's a major coup for Delevingne who lost the leading role in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' to 21-year-old Mia Wasikowska last year.

"I didn't mean to become a model. I always saw it as a way to make money for my acting. I've always wanted to be an actress and now that's what I'm doing," Delevingne said.

"Cara is over the moon to be working with such big stars and she knows this is her big break. She has set her sights on going all the way to the top and following in the footsteps of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who's now a major star," a source said.
