The earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale was felt around 3:29 AM throughout the Valley, including Srinagar, MeT Department officials said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Pakistan and coordinates were 34.6 degrees north and 73.2 degrees east at a depth of 10 KM.

Meanwhile, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted Pakistan's northwestern region early on Friday morning, injuring at least five persons.

The epicenter of the tremor, originating at a depth of 28.9 kilometres, was about 100 km from Moderate quake in Hazarsa region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the US Geological Survey.
At least two aftershocks followed the quake which created panic among the people, said policeman Akram Khan.
"So far there are reports that five people were injured but none of them seriously," he said, adding that some properties were also damaged.
The tremor was also felt in Islamabad and in parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
