Kolkata, (Agencies): One of the associates of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, now under judicial custody in connection with the Rs 2,500 crore money laundering scam, was arrested here, police said.

Vijay Joshi was arrested late on Friday night at Bowbazar by Ranchi Police and Enforcement Directorate personnel.

But after he complained of respiratory problems, he was admitted at a city clinic immediately after his arrest.

"As soon he recovers, the police will take him into custody," sources said adding that local police station was served relevant admission papers of the accused.

They said a CBI team visited the clinic and enquired about Joshi on Saturday morning.

Madhu Koda, arrested on November 30, 2009, is now under judicial custody at Ranchi's Birsa Munda correctional home in connection with Rs 2,500-crore money laundering and illegal investment cases.

Koda's judicial custody is extended periodically and his last extension was granted in January.
