“We salute brave CRPF personnel martyred in Aurangabad, Bihar. We stand by their families in this hour of grief. Prayers with the injured,” he wrote on twitter.

The incident took place ahead of the April 10 Lok Sabha polls in the Maoist-affected district. The deceased were Deputy Commandant Indrajeet and jawans - Pawan Dahia and T Punnarao.

The CRPF Deputy Commandant and two others, who were critically injured, were airlifted to Ranchi for specialized treatment where the former succumbed to injuries. The other injured policemen were taken to Anugrah Narayan Medical College and Hospital (ANMCH) in Gaya.
