"Modi has created history in terms of popularity. The people of the country have accepted him as Prime Minister even though the Lok Sabha elections are over four months away," the BJP leader told reporters in Mathura on Thursday evening.
“During his innings as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi has shown that he is not only a sensitive and able administrator but also a visionary leader,” Pokhariyal said.
"Only such an able person can overhaul the system that is in the doldrums owing to rampant corruption in the Congress rule," he said, adding that ten percent of such popularity was visible for VP Singh prior to his becoming PM.
The former Uttarakhand chief minister claimed that the Congress government in the hill state ‘is on suicidal mode’.

"Congress has no moral right to remain in power as its legislators are openly expressing their discontent against the government," he said.
BJP, however, would not adopt foul means to topple the Congress-led state government, Pokhariyal said.
He expressed confidence that his party would emerge victorious in Assembly elections in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattishgarh and Rajasthan.
