"We liked it, but we were also surprised that the state which has the maximum drug problem Punjab and has a combined SAD-BJP rule, the Prime Minister has not said anything about that," Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said.

"The Indian government is responsible for stopping drugs trafficking, the Prime Minster did not say what steps he was taking to stop this," he said.

Ahmed said "Without mentioning or referring to these issues, the PM was simply trying to preach to the youth.”

Modi, in his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on Sunday spoke against drug abuse and said the money used to buy drugs could be funding terrorist activities.
