Replying to queries related to Postal department during Question Hour, Prasad said Modi spends half-an-hour for works related to IT, two hours for telecom and one-and-a-half-hour for postal services.

"Our government is committed to further improve these sectors with focused attention," he said.

“Government wishes to expand the information technology to every village in the country... State governments have to be on-board in our initiative. Involvement of state governments is very important. Both Central and state governments have to work together," he added.

"Keeping the importance of the postal network as an infrastructure that promotes socio-economic growth, the government is taking various steps for development of postal facilities in the country to provide better services in both urban and rural areas. These include IT enablement of post offices and modernisation of services," he said.
