"There are many leaders in the country who want to become prime minister and at forefront among them is Narendra Modi," Digvijay told reporters at his residence in Bhopal.
He said that among leaders aspiring for the Prime Minister's chair are Mulayam Singh Yadav, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal.

Replying to a query, the AICC general secretary said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will lead the party's campaign in Lok Sabha polls and does not figure in the list of candidates eyeing the top post.
Rebutting Modi's jibe that Sonia Gandhi refrained from naming Rahul as Congress' prime ministerial nominee as she did not want to ‘sacrifice’ his political career, Digvijay said, "Modi can never understand a mother's love.”
