Sources have confirmed to JagranPost that Modi could fight elections from Varanasi constituency while Rajnath Singh is expected to contest from either Lucknow or Chittorgarh seat and Murli Manohar Joshi from Kanpur.

Beside these two major announcements, the BJP would also declare its candidates from Uttar Pradesh for the first two phases of polling.

Considering the winnability factor and doing all political permutations and combinations, the BJP had to somersault in selecting the names of candidates from Uttar Pradesh and now it faces an uphill task in declaring candidates from Bihar.  On Friday, Bihar’s top brass BJP leaders met Rajnath Singh and expressed their displeasure over allotment of tickets for the general elections.

The latest political development is a clear indication that the BJP is batting hard in the pavilion before going to poll pitch.
