Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month according to the Hindu calendar. The festival also marks the beginning of the spring season.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also took to twitter and extended his good wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion.

“Happy Ugadi and happy Gudi Padava too & last but by no means the least happy Navratras as well,” he wrote.

“Navreh Mubarak. May the year ahead be kind to all of us & a happy one for all,” he added.
