“My life's struggle should not be included in school Curriculum,” Modi tweeted.
“Am reading in the news that some states want to include Narendra Modi's life struggles as a part of their school curriculum,” he added in his tweet.
Noting that ‘India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today’, Modi said, “Young minds should read about these greats & emulate them.”
The Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh governments have decided to include Modi's life in school syllabus.
"The chapters may include events starting from his birth, his humble family background, school days, how he faced struggle at different stages of his life and what are the circumstances behind his decision to become a monk," Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said on Thursday.
Chudasma further said selected important and inspiring events which took place until Modi became the Prime Minister would be in included and added that a process has been initiated to form a committee to prepare the final list of events to be included.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh government had earlier said that lessons on Modi’s life may be included in the school curriculum to inspire the students.
