“On 9th I will file my nomination papers for Vadodara Lok Sabha seat,” Modi, who met former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence in New Delhi on Sunday evening, wrote on twitter.

The BJP ruled state will witness single phase polling on April 30 to elect representative for 26 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Congress general secretary Madhusudan Mistry, who is contesting against Modi from Vadodara, had on April 5 filed his nomination papers. Mistry was accompanied by Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief Arjun Modhwadia and Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela.

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate is also contesting from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat which will go to polls on May 12.
