Ahmedabad: In the run up to Gujarat assembly polls due on December 13 and 17, Congress leaders have sharpened their attacks on Chief Minister Narendra Modi. First it was Mani Shankar Aiyar who compared Chief Minister Modi with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and called him ‘Lahu Purush’ (a person who has thirst for blood) and a merchant of falsehood.

Subsequently, addressing a public rally in Junagarh, firebrand Congress spokesperson Renuka Choudhary has said that Modi is the person who denied recognising the woman whom he had married and added that such a person can do no good to the people of the state.

“He cannot understand your problems as he denied recognising his own wife. He has no respect for women,” said Renuka Choudhary.

Notably, referring to 2010 sweat equity controversy of Rendezvous Sports World (RSW), Gujarat Chief Minister Modi, recently during Himachal poll campaigns, had called Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of MoS HRD Shashi Tharoor, a girlfriend of 50 crores. Retorting to this, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh had raised questions on Modi’s marital status. Singh had questioned that despite being married, why Modi don’t mention anything about his wife in the forms.

A video has surfaced on YouTube showing a woman named Yashoda Ben who claims to be the wife of Gujarat Chief Minister whereas Modi shows his marital status as a bachelor.
