Ever since Modi acknowledged his marital relation, several attempts have been made to figure out the exact location of Jashodaben but to no avail.

She was rumoured to have gone on a chaar dham pilgrimage, however a magazine has now claimed that she has been kept near the Neelkanth Mahadev temple in Rishikesh, which is one of Ramdev’s many ashrams.

The report has quoted several Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) sources as saying, “Soon after Modi acknowledged Jashodaben as his wife, Hindu activists and security professionals dressed as pilgrims arrived on her doorsteps in three white SUVs. They told her that her long-standing wish for a char dham yatra had come true.”

“Jashodaben was then escorted to Ahmedabad by them. From there, she boarded a chartered flight to Aurangabad, which is in proximity to the Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border. She was from there taken to one of Ramdev’s most isolated ashrams,” the sources revealed in the report.

The sources in the report also revealed that the labourers at Ramdev’s ashram had spotted a lady arriving there in a white vehicle on April 13.

The magazine also quoted another source, who has good relations with Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, the Shankracharya of Dwark Peeth, as saying,

“Jashodaben is protected by top-level security people with ties with the Gujarat security services. Perhaps, she does not even know that those with her are not pilgrims but people tasked with keeping her away from the public eye.”

This latest report about Jashodaben’s whereabouts could land major ammunition in the hands of the opposition, especially Congress, which has time and again attacked Modi over his marital issues.

The Congress in the past had demanded Z-plus security for Jashodaben, saying the lady had suffered for around four decades by the hands of Modi. However, Congress’ charges were soon rebutted by the BJP, which in reciprocation attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra over his dubious land deals in Haryana.

BJP got a major relief in this matter when Jashodaben's brother Kamlesh had made it known earlier this month that the reclusive 62-year-old retired school teacher has decided not to eat rice and walk without any footwear until her husband emerges victorious and becomes the Prime Minister of the country.
