Jagran Post Network: India’s former wicket-keeper and ex-chairman of selectors, Kiran More rates the current Indian World Cup squad as the best and feels MS Dhoni-led side are in with a good chance to lay their hands at the coveted title but he also believes that defending champions Australia will make a strong come back.

More feels Dhoni-led side is well balanced and equipped to exploit home conditions.

Speaking exclusively to post.jagran.com he said, “According to me this is one of the best Indian teams. We have specialized bowling line up, batting looks very solid as well and we have couple of all rounders in the team, so in all the side is very balanced and looks great. The team has been winning matches and their performance is really good on the field,” he added.

However, he also noted that home pressure will be there on Team India as everybody expects them to win.

“The pressure will always be there. India are a very good side, they are playing some good cricket and the pressure will definitely be there on them. They are playing at home so that will be an added pressure on the team to perform well in front of the home crowd”, More said

More believes that it is very important for Team India to start the tournament on a winning note as it will determine their course for the future.

He said, “At the end of the day, performance matters, they have had a god run and will look to continue that in the World Cup. Everything will depend on how we start the competition.”

More has warned other teams to be wary of Pakistan’s surprising element and feels the Pak team has the potential to create major upsets during the mega event.

“I think Pakistan will be a surprise package in the tournament, the Asian countries have good chance in the coming WC. But I think Australia will come back strongly. There are lot of speculation about the Aussie team and their performance but they will be the team to watch-out for.”

Commenting on Steve Waugh’s comments over Indian players’ wish to win the World Cup for batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, More said, “We are very sentimental about Sachin Tendulkar and if Team has said they want to win it for him, then why not, he has given 21 years for India and he deserves all the respect. Team wants to win it for India and for Tendulkar.”
