Roorkee (Haridwar): The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food, Harish Rawat held the Uttarakhand government responsible for communal violence in Rudrapur following an alleged act of sacrilege that triggered clashes between two communities.

Addressing a press conference Rawat alleged that bureaucracy has dominated the Uttarakhand government. He said that the clash would not have taken a violent turn if administration could have gauged the seriousness of the issue in the early.

It is worth mentioning that on Sunday, indefinite curfew was imposed in Rudrapur town of Udham Singh Nagar district after two persons were killed and several were injured.

Mentioning about the assembly election, he said Congress is ready for the Uttarakhand Assembly election and will declare its candidates in November.
