Chak De! India
Topping this list is Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chak De! India' which released in the year 2007. Also known to be SRK's best work till date, this movie is based on Indian women's hockey team which won Commonwealth Games in 2002. The film got excellent response from audiences and critics and also went on to win National Award for best popular movie.

Lagaan is arguably the most successful movie ever made in the history of Indian cinema. Movie is based on the struggle of residents of a village named Champaner in Rajasthan to save themselves from giving extra 'Lagaan' (Tax) to ruling Britishers. Considered to be a modern day classic, it was in the race of winning an academy award in the best foreign language film category. 

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, this is a biopic based on Milkha Singh's life. The movie  gave audience an insight into life and struggles of the famous torch-bearer of Indian athletics. BMB won all the major awards that season, including prestigious National Film Award.  


Iqbal is story of a dumb and deaf boy who is passionate about the sport of cricket. The movie depicts his journey from rags to riches and also explores his relationship with his coach Mohit (played by Naseerudin Shah).  

Mary Kom

This was another biopic based on the life of Mary Kom, India's most successful female boxer. Priyanka Chopra played the role of Mary and was immensely appreciated for the role. Although the film did not do very good at the box-office, a lot of critical acclaim came its way.
